Nature is the art of God ...

I thank you God, for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirit of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.

~ E.E. Cummings

There is such sedate beauty and such ample and abundant grace about Mother Nature. While it is something to read and absorb or to see pictures and relish ones eyes on the treasures that Mother Nature has to offer mankind, it is a totally different kind of pleasure to be able to totally revel in it.

Engage all your senses, drown in the beauty, feast your eyes, listen to the birds chirping in reckless abandon, feel the breeze as it swarms around you and about you with nothing to bar its path. Feel the chill that it brings alongwith it and revel in the warmth of the sun rays beating down. Nature is in such perfect balance – it is we who fail to see it, more often than not.

The feel of lush green grass, the pleasure of walking on grass with ones shoes off, bathing ones feet in the morning dew that has settled on the grass, that cold nip in the breeze that blows around bringing with it freshness untold, the flowers – a rich splash of color amidst a sea of green and in the backdrop of it all – hills with fog swirling around their tops and at the base of it all – crystal clear water fringed with palm trees.

Birds that fly around with enough boldness to just skim the top of your head whilst flying past you, butterflies, more butterflies and some more butterflies – hazily flitting from flower to flower without anything or anyone to bother them, the industrious little bugs in the grass going about their own work like there is no tomorrow – just about every creation of Mother Nature living together in perfect harmony.

The little flower buds basking in the glory of the morning sun, heralding new hope, new beginnings, sunlight passing through a single droplet of water, creating magic and a rainbow sending kids into raptures of glee, the gentle soothing music of waters lapping the shore and last but not the least – the total lack of noises from the outside world ….

It sets the stage for one to commune with nature and does drive home the fact that Nature is absolutely divine.

All this and much much more came our way when we spent New Year’s day at Inspiration Lake. Tucked into the Disneyland Resort is this vast sprawling, amazing bit of Nature – 30 hectares in all. While Mickey Mouse and his partners drew away most of the crowds, Inspiration Lake drew nature lovers towards it.
